Wearing the Excalibur MB EON Gold 42mm on my wrist was a real challenge for work as I couldn't take three steps without someone stopping me to take a look. The unusual EON gold used for the case doesn't help. This gold alloy is more resistant to tarnishing and is probably the closest in color to rose gold. It is also located on the micro-rotor between 10 and 11 o'clock. This smaller rotor was chosen to allow as much light as possible to penetrate the movement (like the rest of the dial) and has an ultra-stylized design with the Roger Dubuis logo. Subversion seems to be more than just a show, it is also hidden in the details.

At first glance, everything about the Roger Dubuis Excalibur MB EON Gold 42mm appears unique. The EON gold of its case is made from a new, stronger, patented rose gold alloy, which also appears on the bezel with grooves that echo the hour markers on the flange . Immediately, people's eyes will slide to the eye-catching hollow structure in the center of the Excaliber Automatic movement, especially the five-pointed star that occupies more than two-thirds of the surface, almost dancing in space. Also, in two-tone, the tiny rotor is reminiscent of a ship from Star Wars. Gold hands hover above this technical aerial decoration while ensuring excellent legibility, which is not always the case with skeletonized watches. The structured brown leather strap complements the overall aesthetic,

It's been a while since I've had the opportunity to wear a Roger Dubuis timepiece on my wrist. Now it sits comfortably in my arm and I feel thrilled. Obviously, it's unique. Incredible work on the campaign - Bravo Gregory (Director of Product Strategy) and your team created this. Finishing is another matter too, with chamfers and more chamfers to Poinçon de Genève standards. I also especially like the "Star Wars style" hands, they are from another world. This is really an extremely fine skeleton timepiece. what can I say? I still love this brand!

I probably shouldn't say this, but I'm not overly fanatical about skeletal movements; I prefer to have the movement surprise behind the sapphire crystal case back. I also love the art of dial making, so I might feel a little cheated when there is no dial on a watch. But the Roger Dubuis Excalibur MB EON Gold 42mm is something else entirely. The structure of the RD720SQ automatic movement, the five-pointed star bridge above the barrel and the accompanying micro-oscillating weight are particularly eye-catching. Coupled with a case made of a new alloy called EON gold, which is not only more resistant to salt water, but also slightly less shiny than traditional gold, it is beautiful. Finishing meets the highest watchmaking standards set by Poinçon de Genève, so every curve, angle and surface is polished to perfection. If ever there was a skeleton timepiece that could change the way I think about skeletonized movements, it would be it!
